This course is for puppies 6 months and under. The focus of the course is to teach your puppy basic commands, and good habits. The commands taught are: sit, down, stay, come and heel. Common puppy "issues" are also discussed in class, i.e. jumping, mouthing, crate training, potty training, etc. The method of training we will be using is clicker training - focusing on positive reinforcement. Socialization is also a big focus of this course. The puppies will have the opportunity to socialize with other puppies as well as other people.
Novice Classes |

This is a seven week course designed for dogs six months or older that have had either no, or a limited amount of, previous training. This course is also a good place to start with a newly adopted dog.
The topics covered during this course are: sit, down, stay, come when called, loose lead walking, healing, drop it, leave it, proper greetings with other dogs or people, proper manners (not jumping, mouthing, excessively barking). We also practice keeping the dog’s attention around distractions (for example passing other dogs while on leash).
The method of training used in class is operant conditioning, with the focus being on positive reinforcement.
Students should bring their dogs on a regular (not retractable leash) and treats with them for class.
Advanced/CGC Classes |
This seven week class is designed for dogs and owners who have completed basic obedience and are ready to move to the next level. Emphasis will be placed on improving basic obedience around distractions, learning new skills including the 10 skills needed to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. These skills include appropriate greeting of strangers, greeting/ignoring other dogs, loose leash walking along with many more.
