Clients may request an hour of training with a certified trainer while their dog is attending daycare or boarding. This one hour session is ideal for perfecting behaviors that the dog already knows, or teaching a new behavior such as heel, sit, down, stay, name recognition, leave it or drop it. The trainer can also work on basic manners with the dog, such as not jumping or mouthing.
Weekend Training Program
When a dog is boarding at The Animals' House any time between Friday morning and Sunday evening, clients may request training. This program will include 2 one-hour training sessions with a certified trainer and a go-home lesson with the owner. Topics that may be addressed during the weekend program are: basic manners (such as not jumping or mouthing, or pulling on the leash), and learning two new behaviors such as come, sit, stay, down, name recognition, leave it or drop it. Additionally, the trainer will work on compliance issues. This is useful for dogs that understand behaviors (such as sit) but won't always perform when distractions are present.
1 Week Training Program
When a dog is boarding at The Animals' House for seven days clients may request training. This training will include six training lessons, a go-home lesson with the owner, and a seven week group obedience course for no extra charge. A wide range of topics can be addressed during the training. Some examples are: not jumping, mouthing, excessively barking, or pulling on the leash. Owners may choose three new behaviors for the trainers to teach the dogs, such as come, sit, down, stay, name recognition, leave it or drop it. Topics that may be addressed during the week program are jumping, mouthing, heeling and excessive barking. All behaviors will be worked on around distractions to ensure compliance. Items such as dog-dog leash aggression may also be covered during the weekly training program.
2 Week Training Program
A client may enroll their dog into our full two-week training "boot camp". This package includes 12 one hour training sessions, a go-home lesson with the owner, and a seven week obedience course for no extra charge. During the two week training program all items covered under the one week program will be addressed. This program can also include house training if needed. Dogs will be placed on a strict house training schedule and monitor by a trainer to ensure a good house training foundation is achieved!
